Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, 67, the Godfather of “Gonzo” journalism is dead. The cause was a single, self-inflicted gun shot.

Take A Leap
Via Robert Scoble
Sending images across to your friends and family have always been a major pain in the you-know-where. I use YouSendIt to send large files, zipped or unzipped to my clients. Even today, as I attempted to use that service, my machine choked and I had to split the delivery into seven separate packages. Not fun.
Well, just as I was lamenting about this to a colleague at work, I saw Robert Scoble's short post about PhotoLeap.
I have yet to try this service – there are options for free, plus and pro – but from a cursory look I think it holds a lot of promise for both PC and Macintosh users.
It just may make my life easier when clients come-a-calling for me to ship them images and neither my ISP nor theirs will cooperate. Try it out and let me know what you think.

On An Axis
James Balog
“He says he went to look beyond the destruction itself in the hope of finding visuals that manifest the power of the wave.”
Environmental photographer James Balog photographed the tsunami devastation. His conversation with Lisa Mullins of The World can be heard here.

Are You A Top Knot(ch) Photog?
Photo District News has announced the 2005 Top-Knots competition for wedding photographers.
You can bet I will be entering this year. Will share with you my final choices. Perhaps I'll set up a poll where you all can vote on them. We'll see. I have so much first to do to set my office up at home, that this may just take a back seat till the early part of May.
