The people who brought you the “A Day in the Life” series as well as other great photo books are starting a new project and need a freelance photo assistant. This project t will capture the human face of the global water crisis. We will be dispatching photojournalists world wide as well as acquiring photo stock from the photo community.
The Photo Assistant will also help editors in processing images for submission, be a liason with photographers and/or agencies and will perform basic photo studio tasks. This position is a great opportunity for those eager to be exposed to some of the best photojournalism around the world and work with the some of the leading photo editors in the country. It’s a small team, so the ideal candidate can gain a lot of exposure to the direction and selection of images.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work as part of a team, pay close attention to details, be highly organized, be able to work with grace under fire and be able to communicate effectively with industry professionals. He/She must be comfortable communicating through email, telephone. Experience with making travel arrangements worldwide and in remote locations required.
This is a Mac OS X office environment and require a knowledge of FileMaker; Adobe Photoshop CS2 and FTP.
Offices are located along the Sausalito waterfront. This position would begin immediately and last through the production of the book (in mid-to-late July 2007).
