Who Is Tony Corbell?

I've enjoyed learning from Tony Corbell. He is a master at light and he is also a master at teaching about light. His photography has been widely recognized for its technical excellence.

About a year or so ago, I had the pleasure of watching and learning from him at a CTPPA event here in Connecticut. He was patient, professional and totally courteous to all in the audience. Questions were answered and then explored.

He would say, “Let me show you how it is done.” And then, he would do it, walking us through the very steps he would take during a paid commercial portrait assignment.

Skip Cohen will probably agree that Tony Corbell's depth and breadth of knowledge closely echoes Dean Collins (who passed away in 2005). At least, that's how I see it. Tony will be hitting a bunch of cities. Catch him on tour, thanks to Profoto. For $40, this is a no-brainer, my friends. I just wish he was coming back to either Connecticut or to Boston.
