I am getting smothered with Trackback SPAM – that's unwanted pings back to this website. All of it is porn in content. Not sure what to do. Any solutions other than dumping TypePad and going to WordPress or Manish‘s RocketPost? I received a record 110 trackback pings. I know I can copy and paste the offending IP addresses and “ban” them. But these folks seem pretty determined. Sigh!

I have no idea how things work on Typepad. But here’s something that at least helps on WP:

And of course, Spam Karma and Spam Lookup should help.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll check those sites out. Meanwhile, I really wonder if all of this is really my doing. The subscription service I use on this site [bloglet] has some spotty subscribers. Some with the following email addresses: admin@olbc.com, admin@olac.ws, admin@btg.ws, admin@fbj.com etc. Admin? Who the *&^% is that? Bogus subscribers obviously. I am looking to also deep six Bloglet for another subscription management service. Any suggestions?

Just when I thought I’d killed comments spam, the ugly beast rears its head via trackback pings…
Let me know what you find, Seshu
