Folks, I have asked before and I ask again. This time it is hitting me much closer to home. My home.
My cousin Vinay Chakravarthy is fighting the good fight. Diagnosed with leukemia some months back, he has had a relapse despite several chemotherapy sessions. The next logical step is a bone marrow transplant. This is where you could play a pivotal part. But you have to step up.
Become a hero. I implore your good consciences to register yourself and your family members with the National Marrow Donor Program … NOW!
Time is of the essence. Vinay needs a match within the next six weeks. Please furnish the following information to the registry and be specific that you want your “HLA” type to be cross-checked with that of Vinay Chakravarthy's (information the registry should have in their data base.)
To find out more about South Asians and bone marrow transplants visit SAMAR or South Asian Marrow Association Of Recruiters.
If you have any further questions, please contact me.

Hi, I am a journalist working with NDTV based out of NY. I am interested in talking to you to see if we can work together and get a story done on Vinay and the importance of the the south asian community coming forward as donors.
This is an issue that I have been following up for some time now. did a story on this for NDTV last year. That’s when I met Tim Dutta.

Tim is doing great work in this area. This winter he traveled to India to set up a bank of Indian donors. I am fwd this email to Tim and Pia too-timdutta@matchpia.org
I think this is the kind of story that the media should take up. NDTV would like to do a story on Vinay. Hopefully, some good could come out of it as was the case with Pia.
Hoping to hear from you,
Thanks, Sarah
